Hair: Hair must be pulled back neatly and secured in a bun for all classes.

Making a ballet bun:

Dancers will need the following supplies to make a ballet bun:

Hair brush and comb, fine mesh nylon hair net, braided elastic band, barrettes/clips, hair pins and bobby pins, hair spray.

Instructions:

Brush hair smooth. Remove all tangles. Spray hair lightly with hair spray. Smooth hair with hands and secure wisps, layers or short ends into ponytail and secure with a braided elastic band (do not use rubber bands – they tear hair). Secure sides and back of hair with clips or barrettes. Divide ponytail into two sections and twist-or-divide ponytail into three sections and braid. Wrap each section of twisted or braided hair clockwise around the braided elastic band. Secure with hair pins and bobby pins as you wrap. Place the hair net over the bun; twist the net over the bun at least two times. Tuck ends of hair net into the bottom of the bun and secure with hair or bobby pins. Spray hair and bun with hair spray to set. Smooth with hand or comb.

Shoes: Any shoes worn in class should never have been worn outside or on the pavement as this may cause damage to the Marley flooring. Students should also wear shoes to and from the studio and not arrive or leave barefoot.

Jewelry & Accessories: No jewelry is allowed in class, except for small stud earrings. This includes no rings, watches, fitness trackers, or bracelets of any kind. No leg warmers, black tights, ballet skirts, or extra clothing of any kind may be worn to class.
