Congratulations to our Alma Dance School dancers and Directors Vilma Machin and Guillermo Leyva on a great weekend at the 2019 Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Chicago. Youth America Grand Prix is the world's largest international student ballet competition and scholarship program, open to dance students of all nationalities 9–19 years old. Youth America Grand Prix reaches over 12,000 dance students annually by holding workshops, scholarship auditions, masters classes, and auditions classes in 25 U.S cities and 8 international locations. Each season culminates in the week-long New York Finals, where more than 1,200 of the world's most promising dancers receive in-depth mentoring and greater scholarship, professional, and performance opportunity.

Madison Sanders was awarded top 12 in the Senior Classical Division. Ella McEnany placed top 12 in the Senior Division for her classical and contemporary pieces. Katherine Ochoa was awarded the Youth America Grand Prix which is the maximum award given to students in the competition. Directors Vilma Machin and Guillermo Leyva were awarded outstanding teachers award. Katherine Ochoa and Ella McEnany have been invited to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York in April. Great job Dancers!

Congratulations to Madison and Ella on their wonderful performances at YAGP 2018. Both beautiful dancers displayed strong, clean and precise technique while simultaneously shining on stage. The most important take away from this experience has been the opportunity for our dancers to grow and continue to develop as artists. We are proud of your hard work and how professionally you danced. Your effort and dedication was evident on stage this week.

Congratulations to Ella for placing top 24 in the classical dance category in Chicago. Ella was also one of only four students, who received a full year scholarship to Ballet West Academy. Well done Maddie and Ella!
