Perhaps you have seen the new plaque in the school’s waiting area. This is an award given to Alma Dance School from the Turnaround Management Association for the school’s astounding growth in past two years, with the specific focus on the Nutcracker performance last year. The level of effort required to execute a full production of the Nutcracker is exceptional and it is rarely endeavored by new schools or companies. But Alma Dance School, including all of the wonderful students, presented a spectacular production. This was noticed by a group of pro-bono small business management companies whose aim is to create an environment for further growth and success.
The growth in programming and quality of work provided by Vilma and Guillermo has certainly been noticed in the arts community and this award (the Harry Preucil Pro Bono of the Year Award) was presented to Alma in recognition. As a point of interest, John Boehner was speaker at the awards ceremony and it was moderated by Lara Logan. Through this award, Alma hopes to further emphasis the high quality of work produced by our students and assure them that this is an experience that they will find in no other studio. It truly is amazing how far everyone has come in such a short period of time! Congrats to everyone!!
